Workshop Overview
Mixed-media painting is a fun and approachable technique that allows the painter to build up layers of imagery, much like the layers of foliage in the forest. In this workshop, we will spend time making art directly in the forest, sketching the flora and fauna. Returning to the studio with sketchbooks full of inspiration, students will cut out their own drawings and use them to collage layers of imagery onto the canvas along with layers of acrylic paint. The mixed-media painting process lends itself well to experimentation and play, and is suitable for all skill levels.
