Training never ends!
If you’ve ever worked in sales, you have likely heard the acronym ABS: Always Be Selling. I’ve got my own acronym to lay on you—ABT: Always Be Training!
My aunt is a professional violinist. She taught me to play violin when I was a child. She’s still a working musician at 72, and she’s still receiving training! She has a violin teacher who helps her to continually develop and refine her skills.
Just like musicians, actors and athletes have an array of coaches and teachers to help them perform at the highest possible level.
There are business coaches, life coaches, parenting coaches, health and fitness coaches—the world is chock full of resources to help you work on any aspect of your life that you’d like to strengthen!
It’s a mistake to assume that anyone who has reached any level of success has gotten there on their own. When you see the work of an artist that you admire—even if they’re “self taught,” you can bet that they have made use of teachers and mentors to help them develop and succeed.
I’ve been a professional artist for a decade, and I have multiple mentors and coaches. They are an integral part of my creative and business pursuits!
If your creative practice or art business is not where you want it to be, don’t waste time with self-blame! Seek out the right mentor, teacher, or coach who can help you grow your skills and make progress.
Working with a coach or trainer is a great way to create external accountability, too. Many people hire fitness trainers not because they don’t know how to exercise, but rather because the training appointments make the exercise actually happen.
Am I the right mentor and teacher for you? Book a no-pressure free discovery call with me and we can find out!
Whether you work with me or someone else, I hope that you will seek out the training that you need and that you’ll stay in training—and growing—for the rest of your life!
